I understand your worries, but what you’re experiencing is quite common! Many moms-to-be find eating difficult in the early stages of pregnancy.

    1. Appetite Changes: It’s normal to have a reduced appetite and feel nauseous. The slight fishy taste and smell from some foods can be off-putting, but this usually improves as your pregnancy progresses.
    2. Baby’s Nutrition: Don’t worry too much about your baby’s nutrition right now. Your body is great at prioritising nutrients for your baby. Keep taking your prenatal vitamins, stay hydrated, and try to eat small, frequent meals. Smoothies and soups can be easier to manage.
    3. Baby Bump: Not showing a big bump at 14 weeks is totally normal. Every woman’s body is different. Your bump will grow in the coming weeks, so don’t stress about it.

Here are some tips that can potentially help with your appetite and to ensure your nutritional intake:

    1. Keep taking your prenatal vitamins.
    2. Try small, frequent meals to make eating less of a chore.
    3. Drink plenty of water.
    4. Avoid strong smells that make you feel sick.

If your appetite doesn’t improve or you continue losing weight, feel free to talk to me or another doctor. We’re here to help ensure you and your baby stay healthy.
