Im 30yo female
I used to be on birth control for about ages 15-25 to regulate my hormones and for acne. Not sure which brands i took.
At 25yo i switched to the depot injection because i wanted more long lasting birth control option in my long term relationship. it gave me very very bad mood swings and suicidal ideations so i stopped it after 2 injection cycles.
Now im back on oral medication but my compliance is so bad! im worried about accidental pregnancy but my husband (now BF) is allergic to latex.
ive been looking into other long term birth control options but im terrified of being suicidal again. please let me know if these are possibel options for me and if there is any risk of it happening again?
I stay in SG. so Im assuming these are all available? looking forward to hearing from any woomen’s health dr or gynae.
– Implanon hormone implant in the arm (pic inserted cause its the first time i heard about it!)
– Mirena IUD with hormones
– Copper IUD (i heard the periods will get v heavy with copper iud? if no other choice i dont mind trying)
Any ladies w experience feel free to share <3 I understand bc use is very individualised also.
