Cl Asst Prof Bien Lai
Cl Asst Prof Bien Lai is the current head and senior consultant of the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) Paediatric Dentistry Unit, and the Associate Programme Director of the Post-Graduate Paediatric Dentistry Residency Programme. She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) (Faculty of Dentistry) in 2006 and has been recognised consistently with multiple academic and service awards through dental school years. She was awarded the Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) Overseas Scholarship for Paediatric Dentistry Specialty training in 2008, was board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2012, and obtained specialist accreditation in Singapore in 2014.
Early dental care is essential for children’s growth, preventing tooth decay and fostering healthy habits. Guidelines recommend a first dental visit by age 1.
