Looking for something different to do this weekend?
The IHH x Singapore Sea Regatta 2025 is bringing adrenaline, culture, and a whole lot of heart to The Promontory @ Marina Bay on 13–14 September, and it is set to make waves.
Whether you are in it for the races, the wellness vibes, or to simply soak up the waterfront atmosphere with family, here are 5 reasons not to miss Singapore’s biggest dragonboat and mental wellness event of the year.
1. Cheer on Dragonboat Teams Around The World

The regatta is the heartbeat of the event, and this year’s edition is bigger and bolder than ever.
With teams hailing from around the world, the competition will be fast, fiery, and unmissable. You will see hospital teams, corporate racers, and even cancer survivor teams showing off grit, rhythm, and heart.
Catch the action anywhere along The Promontory broadwalk, where the rest of the events festivities are happening.
2. Mental Health Takes Centre Stage
Under the 2025 theme “Rise Above the Waves”, this year’s cause is mental health support and advocacy.
IHHSSR 2025 is intentionally curated to create space for open dialogue and personal connection. Attendees can expect:
- Mental wellness talks and panels
- Appearances by advocates and public figures like Naomi Yeo, Dawn Sim, and Darshen
- Conversations led by healthcare experts and therapists, hosted across both days
Whether you are a healthcare worker struggling with compassion fatigue or a young person navigating anxiety, you are not alone, and help exists. Come by and join in the conversation!
3. Meet EQUAL’s Minis: Therapy Horses at the Bay
In a special collaboration with EQUAL and Medical Channel Asia, SSR 2025 will host something entirely unexpected — a Meet & Greet with Mini Therapy Horses.

EQUAL is a local charity that uses equine therapy to support youth, elderly, and persons with special needs. This year, they are bringing their delightful mini horses to the Regatta.
Gentle, curious, and calming, these miniature therapy animals are not just adorable – they offer emotional grounding and connection. Bring the kids, or just come for your own serotonin boost.

4. Wellness Fiesta With a Sports Twist

Don’t know how to dragonboat? IHHSSR 2025 brings you an opportunity to move your body too, all while staying nice and dry on land. Get sweaty with open-air spin classes, yoga flows, and influencer-led workouts right by the waterfront.
When you are done breaking a sweat, check out the other workshops, food booths and plenty of shaded spaces to cool down between activities. Bringing kids? The giant bouncy castles and fun activities ensure the little ones will have just as much fun.
5. Be Part of a Bigger Movement
This is more than just a weekend festival. It is part of a multi-year vision to promote population wellness, mental health advocacy, and active living.
Backed by a S$580,000 sponsorship from IHH Healthcare and endorsed by MOH, SDBA, and PAssion WaVe, the Singapore Sea Regatta is shaping into one of Singapore’s most iconic wellness festivals this year and in the years to come.
