Significant Uptake in Healthier SG Programme Promotes Preventive Health
The Healthier SG initiative is making waves, with nearly one million people signing up in its inaugural year. This innovative preventive healthcare programme is changing the way Singaporeans manage their health, promoting a proactive and personalised approach to well-being.
Transformative Health Coaching and Personalised Care with Healthier SG
Healthier SG, launched in July 2023, is designed to offer personalised care plans tailored to individual health needs. The programme emphasises preventive healthcare, providing annual check-ups and comprehensive health screenings at no cost to participants.
Additionally, Healthier SG offers health coaching services, where healthcare professionals work closely with participants to develop customised plans focusing on lifestyle and dietary changes. This holistic approach ensures better management of chronic conditions, helps in early detection of potential health issues, and promotes overall health improvement.
Impressive Enrollment Figures and Demographics of Healthier SG
Since its inception, Healthier SG has invited 2.4 million residents aged 40 and above to participate. Of the current enrollees, approximately 580,000 are aged 60 and above, making up 60% of the total. Around 380,000 participants are between 40 and 59 years old.
These impressive figures highlight the programme’s broad appeal and the significant demand for preventive healthcare services among Singapore’s ageing population.
Why You Should Enrol in Healthier SG
As you age, the risk of developing chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease increases significantly. These conditions can lead to severe complications like kidney failure, stroke, and cardiovascular issues, imposing substantial health, emotional, and financial burdens on you and your family. Enrolling in Healthier SG helps you manage these risks through a structured approach to preventive care and healthy living.
Healthier SG encourages the adoption of healthy habits and regular monitoring to detect potential health issues early. By providing personalised care plans, the programme tailors health advice to your specific needs, ensuring that you receive the most effective guidance for managing your health. Participants benefit from regular check-ups, which help in tracking health progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
The programme also offers comprehensive health screenings and vaccinations at no cost, making it easier to stay on top of your health. These services are crucial in identifying early signs of health problems, allowing for timely intervention and better outcomes. Additionally, the programme connects you with health coaching services where healthcare professionals provide detailed guidance on lifestyle and dietary changes. This support is vital for managing chronic conditions and improving overall well-being.
Having a regular family doctor through Healthier SG ensures continuity of care, as your doctor becomes familiar with your health history and can offer more personalised advice. This relationship fosters better communication and trust, making it easier to discuss health concerns and take proactive steps to address them.
