Ventamin Light Up is a plant-based oral skincare supplement developed by Dr Lim Ing Kien (Dr Ingky) designed to brighten and hydrate skin. Our medical writer Evelyn tries it for a month to see if it delivers on its promises.
In my day to day life, I find myself constantly running from schedule to schedule. I meet with clients, colleagues, and friends alike, so there’s only so much time for me to take care of myself. I have tried countless skincare products, and it has taken a long time for me to land on my current regime. When I heard about Ventamin Light Up, I was intrigued.
Ventamin Light Up is a new oral skincare supplement from the minds of Dr Lim Ing Kien, MD, also known as Dr Ingky (@dr_ingky), and Geraldyn Low, a registered pharmacist. Promising to deliver science-backed results, Ventamin Light Up was created to make supplements simple but effective.

What’s In Ventamin Light Up?
Promising to promote glowing, even-toned, and hydrated skin, Ventamin Light Up is made from a plant-based formulation and contains a blend of ingredients such as:
Pine Bark Extract – known to boost collagen and improve skin elasticity
L-Glutathione – a powerful antioxidant linked to skin brightening
Green Tea Extract – helps reduce inflammation and protect against UV damage
Acerola Cherry (Vitamin C) – supports collagen production and skin radiance
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) – brightens and strengthens the skin barrier
L-Cysteine – a precursor to glutathione, helping detoxify the skin
Each box comes with 30 easy-to-carry sachets (30g each), designed to be mixed with water and consumed once daily. It is sugar-free, low in calories, vegan, and free from artificial colours, making it ideal for those with dietary concerns.

Week 1: First Impressions
In the name of skincare science, I tried Ventamin Light Up for 1 month to see if there would be any changes in my skin. I carried the 30g sachets around in my handbag every day, making sure to take my daily dose of Ventamin Light Up without fail. I mixed one sachet into a cup of water and would take it along with my meals.
The lemony flavour was pleasant – slightly tart, not overly sweet, and definitely not artificial. Since the formula is free from sugar, it was refreshing without being jelak (cloying). This made it easier to integrate into my daily routine.
On the first day of taking Ventamin, I did not notice any immediate results – nor did I expect it to. My current skincare routine already includes plenty of hydration and a generous layer of sunscreen each morning, so I did not expect dramatic changes overnight.
During this month of trying Ventamin Light Up, I took some time each week to take a look at my skin for any noticeable changes.
By the end of the first week, I felt that my skin was slightly firmer, though nothing dramatic or visible to others just yet.
Week 2: A Hint of Radiance
During the second week of my experiment, I was busy attending meetings overseas. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of flying and travelling, I continued to take my daily dose of Ventamin Light Up. While meeting up with my overseas colleagues, I mentioned my little supplement project to them. After a few moments of looking intensely at my face, they finally told me that my skin was looking just a bit more even.
Hooray, I suppose?
Personally, I noticed that my skin felt less dry, and there was a slight increase in overall radiance. I attributed this to the inclusion of pine bark extract and green tea extract – ingredients commonly studied for their skin-improving properties.
Pine bark is known for helping with skin elasticity, while green tea can aid in evening out skin tone and reducing dullness.
Week 3: A Shift in the Right Direction
By the third week, I felt more confident leaving the house with just a tinted moisturiser and a swipe of eyeliner. My skin tone looked a little more even, and my complexion had a softer sheen than before. Not quite the glass-skin glow of K-beauty fame, but a noticeable improvement.
Around day 15, I realised I had not experienced any dry patches, especially around the cheeks and chin, where I tend to flake. By day 20, my skin tone felt noticeably more even. Still subtle, but heading in the right direction.

Throughout the month, I appreciated how portable and easy-to-consume the sachets were. With no need to swallow pills or measure powders, I could easily incorporate Ventamin Light Up into a packed schedule.
Week 4: Final Thoughts
At the end of the month, my results were modest but noticeable. My skin felt healthier overall – better hydrated, slightly more radiant, and more even in tone. However, if you are expecting dramatic before-and-after transformations within a few weeks, you may be disappointed.
That said, supplements often require longer-term commitment before benefits are fully visible, especially for skin. Given the science-backed ingredients and ease of use, I would recommend continuing Ventamin Light Up for more than just a month or two to see how it builds on these early changes.
If you are already doing the basics – sunscreen, hydration, a balanced diet – this could be a helpful addition to elevate your skin from good to better.
