Kuala Lumpur, October 26 – Commencing on October 25, 2024, Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2024 will convene leaders, professionals, innovators, and policymakers from around the world in the healthcare industry to discuss innovative developments, share knowledge, and establish collaborations with the goal of improving healthcare’s quality, accessibility, and sustainability.
“Among other things, the event focuses on leveraging advanced technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, to enhance predictive, preventive, and precision medicine,” said Chin Keat Chyuan, President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad.
“MIH Megatrends’ primary goal is to give all the stakeholders—physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and the entire ecosystem—a platform to interact, share knowledge, and above all, take the essential lessons learnt thus far to the next level.
He told reporters at the KPJ exhibit at MIH Megatrends today, “So ultimately, what we want to achieve is to advance healthcare to the next level for the benefit of our patients.”
According to Chin, around 1,500 people attended the event, which included more than 100 exhibitors from both the public and commercial sectors.
His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, will officiate over the three-day event today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad will provide the opening remarks.
A Vision for Future-Focused Healthcare
Speaking on the partnership with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Ministry of Health (MOH), and other industry stakeholders, Chin stated that the occasion is a significant step towards the realisation of public-private partnerships (PPP) in Malaysia.
According to him, the event’s ultimate objective is to present Malaysia’s healthcare advances to a worldwide audience, and the country’s accomplishments and innovations in the region and beyond will be perfectly showcased during the approaching chairmanship of the ASEAN chapter next year.
Regarding technology, he stated that KPJ is already putting into practice cutting-edge solutions like robotically assisted surgeries, such as total knee replacements, and minimally invasive cardiac procedures. He added that these developments highlight the company’s dedication to improving patient care via the use of both technology and soft skills training.
According to Chin, KPJ is making significant investments in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in an effort to improve treatment quality and combine clinical services with research and teaching in order to create an academic health system.
According to him, this all-encompassing strategy puts the needs and value of patients first while aiming for long-term healthcare operations.
