The healthcare landscape in Bukit Batok East takes a progressive turn with the official opening of the Community Health Resource Centre @ Nature View.

The new centre is named Bukit Batok East Community Health Resource Centre @ Nature View. It is dedicated to combating the alarming rise of Type 2 diabetes among younger demographics. This strategic move, initiated by the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, arrives in time for World Diabetes Day and responds to urgent health statistics that point towards an emerging crisis. The opening was held on Saturday, 28 October 2023 and was graced by Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health and Advisor to Jurong GRC GROs.

Every decade of earlier diagnosis was associated with 3 to 4 years of reduced life expectancy. The study, conducted by a team from University of Cambridge and University of Glasgow analyzed data from two large-scale data sources, the Emerging Risk Factors Collaboration and UK Biobank. Data from more than 1.5 million participants were used in this study.

He retired from the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2022, where he served as the Head of Nephrology Services and the Head of the Department of Medicine at Penang Hospital.
